Roni Evans, DC, MS

Dr. Evans has been an investigator of several randomized clinical trials funded by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine and the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (RO1AT000707, R18HP10013, R18HP01424, R18HP01425, R18HP10009, R18HP07639, R18HP07638, R18AH10002, R18HP15124). She has also had a keen interest in exploring patients’ pain-related perceptions, expectations, and what it means to be ‘well’ using mixed methods designs (qualitative and quantitative).

Since 2007, Dr. Evans has also been very active in promoting the dissemination and implementation of research in clinical practice. She is principal investigator of a Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Research Education Partnership Project (R25 AT003582) a collaborative effort between the Center for Spirituality & Healing and Northwestern Health Sciences University. The purpose of that project is to develop educational resources and strategies to influence practitioners’ attitudes and uptake related to research, and develop their skills in efficiently finding, appraising and applying scientific evidence to clinical practice. Dr. Evans is also co-investigator of the Dissemination of Evidence-Based Practice Education to Chiropractic Providers (1R21AT007547) with the University of Pittsburgh.
