Anxiety is just one of the common challenges survivors struggle with.
Diagnosis, treatment and survivorship can each bring unique challenges. Even when active treatment has ended or you are discharged home from the hospital, anxiety isn't far. Maybe it comes and goes. Maybe it's a constant hum in the background of your life. Maybe it disguises itself and surprises you at the most inconvenient times. Everyone experiences anxiety differently.
Certain types of situational anxiety are unique to survivorship. A common example is ‘scanxiety,’ or the anxiety associated with regular diagnostic tests.
