Don't want to watch a video? Here is a visual guide for starting to journal.

Choose your materials. Handwritten: Notebook, loose leaf, pen, pencil, crayons, markers. Tech: Computer, phone, tablet, voice, recorder. Center Yourself. Pick a Comfortable spot: Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, let go of expectations and judgements and set an intention. Decide on a Topic. Choose from prompts or Whatever is on your mind. Timing. Set a timer, or no time limit. While you’re writing: Practice being kind and non-judgmental. Be open to where your thoughts might go. Focus on the process, not the final product. Afterwards, Reflect. How are you feeling in this moment? Were there things you did that helped with your process? What surprises came up for you? Did your writing take you somewhere you didn’t expect it to?
